* Drink a glass of water.
One glass of water won't be sufficient for a body that is more than mildly dehydrated.
* Ponder.
Take 15 minutes to sit quietly and focus on nothing.
* Create a anxiety box.
Note down all of your qualms on a sheet(s) of paper and put the sheet(s) of paper into the box, and stow it away on a lofty shelf nearby. Prompt yourself that you don't have to agonize about anything right now because you've placed your worries in that box.
* Empty your thoughts with free writing.
Write your feelings down (don't worry about making them neat or orderly, just scrawl them out). In due course you will guide your mind to focus on the undertaking at hand and let go of uncalled for random thoughts.
* Record your journey.
Note down down your achievements, think ways to overcome obstacles, and chronicle solutions that worked for you. When you feel in need of motivation, go back and read a few pages and let it inspire you! It's easy to forget how nice a certain achievement made you feel at the time, and this is a good way to prompt yourself that you are capable of more than you realize.
* Sip some tea or coffee.
It has proven to be a mental stimulator unless you have a restriction that is aggravated by caffeine. Try to steer clear of adding sugar, or drinking those sugar-loaded caffeinated beverages. Too much sugar can put you in a worse spot than you started in.
* Fuel your body.
Start off the day with a wholesome breakfast. Stick with lean protein and high-fiber complex carbohydrates, vegetables and fruit, along with limited amounts of healthy fats. All through the day eat small meals and refreshments. This will help keep your blood sugar level more stable - which can give you the strength to keep moving forward!
* Take a break.
Nothing results in burnout quicker than pushing yourself too hard,too often, for too long! If you've been burning the midnight oil too often, take some time off. Even a few hours of rest and fun will be more effective than any motivational techniques.
* Take a siesta.
If you're feeling lethargic and can't concentrate, allow 15-30 minutes of nap. Apart from renewing your physical energy, it can perk up your concentration so you'll get more done in less time.
* Smell something nice.
Aromatherapy is a good way to stimulate your mind and body, or simply produce enjoyable feelings associated with scents. Inhale peppermint, rosemary, cinnamon, lemon, or orange by putting a few drops onto a handkerchief when you need a little stimulation.
